Tahoe Rim Trail 2021 Announcement

What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?

It has been awhile since I’ve posted anything. COVID, distance learning with a kindergartner and major life changes have kept me from the blog. But, I’m back! And, I have a big announcement to make….

This summer, I’ll be hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail!! AKA the TRT. This is a trail I’ve wanted to hike for 18 years. In fact, when I first heard about the trail, I was in Tahoe for the first time and pregnant with my first child. My entry date comes into play with that whole story, but you’ll have to watch the YouTube video below to find out why. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m prepping for this 170+ mile trek by doing cardio on bike machines, an elliptical and the ever so popular stair climber (that’s sarcasm folks). I’ll also be doing a few mountain overnights at high elevation in May and June. And, I’m updating my gear. I have an Amazon wishlist going if you’re interested in seeing what I’m currently fiending for! Once I have my gear list locked in, I’ll be sharing that with everyone and then letting you all know how it went. For instance, what gear I could have left at home and what I wish I’d brought with me.

I know I said above that the TRT is 170+ miles. That’s because the actual mileage is a bit up in the air. Officially, on the Tahoe Rim Trail Association’s website, it’s 165 miles. However, there have been some reroutes over the years and I’m hearing it’s closer to 170 – 185 miles all in; depending on who you ask. So, we shall see what it actually ends up being.

If you’d like to follow along on my journey, from preparation and planning, to the actual hike, be sure to follow me on Instagram and subscribe to my YouTube channel!
