Finding Nemo
Finding the perfect backpacking tent can be an adventure all its own. How much does it weigh? Should I get a footprint or risk it on rocks? And what about those prices? Do I buy cheap or splurge?
Luckily, I hit the jackpot on my first purchase! I bought the Nemo Hornet 2p off of a woman who I was supposed to go to Havasupai with, but ended up sick and had to stay home. She never used the tent, so I gladly purchased it from her since it was the tent I’d been eyeballing. I love that tent. Like LOVE that tent!! But, I wanted something that was completely freestanding (the Hornet is only semi-freestanding).
Enter the Nemo Equipment Dragonfly! This time around, I opted to go with a one one person tent to save a little space and weight. And boy oy boy am I excited to take this green machine out. I unboxed and set it up in my house; which was an adventure in and of itself. Haha.
So far, I’m really happy with the purchase. And I am looking forward to taking it out with my Hornet to do a side-by-side comparison (stay tuned for that post and video).
